Rowland Suddaby (1912-1972)

Born in Yorkshire he studied at Sheffield College of Art before moving to London in 1931.  From 1936 he held a series of shows at the Redfern Gallery.  He later showed at Austin Desmond.  At the outbreak of the war, he moved to Suffolk and began producing his very recognisable landscape views, with his use of black inks defining trees and skylines.
