Born in London, Willsher is known primarily as a sculptor in wood of abstract forms. He had his first one man show in Heal’s in 1966. Throughout the 70s and 80s Willsher promoted his work personally rather than through galleries. However, in the late 80s and into the 90s he had one man shows at the Belgrave Gallery and the Boundary Gallery in London, and also showed a number of works at the Royal Academy.
