William Roberts, RA (1895-1980)
He was born and lived in London, where he attended the Slade School of Fine Art. He joined the Omega Workshops in 1913 and exhibited as a member of the Vorticist Group in 1915.
Roberts’ work is characterised by a tube man style which is distinctively his. An Arts Council Retrospective was held in 1965 and he was elected RA in 1966.
