Phillip Sutton, RA (b.1928)
Born in London, studied at the Slade, where he later taught, 1954-63. Exhibited with Roland, Browse and Delbanco. He travelled to Australia and Fiji to paint, where the environment suited his style, painting directly from life in bold, bright colours. He was elected RA in 1989.
