James Fitton (1899-1982)

Fitton as an artist was always perceptive in his observations. He was a painter, but also a designer, producing work for London Transport; illustrations for Lilliput and other magazines, as well as posters.

In the 1930s he exhibited at the RA and the NEAC and had his first one man show at Arthur Tooth and Sons in 1933. He lived and worked in Dulwich and was elected RA in 1954.
